Nguyen, 27, signed a citizen’s arrest warrant when authorities arrived on the scene, charging the NFL linebacker with battery and false imprisonment.
Merriman was taken arrested at 3:45 a.m. local time and charged with battery and false imprisonment. Tila Tequila was taken to a local hospital for treatment for loss of breath and cuts to the face.

Interrogation and psychological profiling have brought to light new details about Nancy’s role in the abduction of Jaycee, and her 18-year-long captivity.
Prosecutors have now charged Nancy with “an active role as a participant and accomplice in the assaults on Jaycee”.
The 54-year-old Nancy will also face four charges of forcible rape, two charges of rape and seven charges of forcible lewd acts apart from the charge of kidnapping.
The Daily Express quoted the detective as saying: “These counts are likely to put her behind bars for life. But, surely, they represent only the tip of the iceberg. I doubt we will ever know the full extent or frequency of the horrific attacks that were perpetrated on an innocent young girl who must have been terrified out of her mind. She may have been sexually abused hundreds, even thousands of times and it is now clear that the abuse was not at the hands of Phillip Garrido alone. Nancy played an active part.”
Its now known that Nancy, a trained nursing assistant, delivered both girls that were born to Jaycee during her confinement.
Ted Cassman, a California criminal defence attorney, said Nancy would not be able to use the claim of having been “brainwashed” by her husband to her defence.
“It may well be true that Phillip Garrido was abusive, controlling and dominant. But even if she was, as it were, under his spell, the fact that she took an active part in the abuse of Jaycee will be more than enough for a jury to convict,” he added.
Detectives believe Nancy could have influenced her husband to abduct Jaycee.
A senior source said “Nancy was unable to have children,” said a senior source, “and we are investigating the possibility that Jaycee was abducted with the specific intention of providing babies to complete a ‘family’ for the Garridos.”
“Phillip Garrido has been painted as a monster. But we believe we are dealing with two monsters here - him and his wife,” the source added.

Boise State’s Byron Hout appeared to tap Blount on the shoulder during postgame interactions, before turning away, only to take a Blount sucker punch to his jaw that floored him.Hout momentarily fell to the ground as Blount continued his rampage, taking a swing at a teammate and going after fans in the crowd. Broncos coach Chris Petersen rushed in to separate him from further incident. Coaches and players on both teams tried to restrain Blount, and were only finally able to get him off the field with the help of security and police. While some are calling for Blount’s suspension, if not banishment, from the team and sport, others are asking what exactly Hout said that caused such a scene. Blount was particularly atrocious in Thursday’s game, netting negative five yards on eight carries including being on the wrong end of a safety.For his actions today, then Blount apologized saying:“I just apologize to everyone that was watching this. Joshua M. Bernard of New Portland, Maine, who was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade in a Taliban ambush Aug. 14 in Helmand province of southern Afghanistan, according to The AP.

The caption says: “In this photo taken Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, Lance Cpl. Joshua Bernard is tended to by fellow U.S. Marines after being hit by a rocket propelled grenade during a firefight against the Taliban in the village of Dahaneh in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. Bernard was transported by helicopter to Camp Leatherneck where he later died of his wounds.” Gates’ letter was sent Thursday, after he talked to Curley by phone at about 3:30 p.m. Pentagon Press Secretary Geoff Morrell said Gates told Curley: “I am asking you to reconsider your decision to publish this graphic photograph of Lance Corporal Bernard. I am begging you to defer to the wishes of the family. This will cause them great pain.”

Unexplained Phenomenon:- Separating the “residual” (repetitive) from the “intelligent” (responsive) hauntings can be a difficult task for beginners. I like to break it down to the repetitive versus novel events.Repetitive events include things like footsteps down a hallway regularly, a woman seen at the same window by many witnesses, sounds of voices heard in the back bedroom at the same time of day, and other types of phenomenon which are heard fairly frequently by a wide variety of visitors and residents. These events are often categorized by hunters as “residual.”

Intelligent hauntings (what I prefer to call “responsive” hauntings) are equated with receiving responses that appear to be interactive, suggesting intelligence. If I ask a question and the KII meter lights up, that could be considered responsive, interactive, even intelligent. EVPs are most often used as evidence of intelligent hauntings, although I don’t put a lot of credence into EVPs because of the fact that recorders are receivers and there’s no exact way to tell if you received an intelligent disembodied voice, a voice that was kept in the environment like the footsteps (above) and randomly plays back, or if you’re picking up a walkie, a cell phone, a satellite phone, or any other transmitter device.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates personally lobbied the Associated Press in an unsuccessful bid that the news agency honor a family's wish that it not distribute a graphic photograph showing the final moments of their son's life after the marine had been mortally wounded in a firefight in Afghanistan. The photo shows 21-year-old Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard of New Portland, Maine, being helped by squadmates shortly after suffering severe leg injuries in a Taliban ambush in southern Afghanistan.

Joshua Bernard death photo because it crossed some boundaries that even Defense Secretary Robert Gates has harshly criticized it. The father of the fallen soldier has appealed to AP that the image be removed but AP thinks that it is their duty to “conveys the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.” But the grimness of war can be conveyed in many different ways without adding pain to the families of fallen soldiers.

Michael Jackson Funeral:- Lisa Marie Presley, Chris Tucker and Mila Kunis are among some of the celebrities flocking to Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif. for Michael Jackson's funeral, which is set to be held Thursday, September 3. Michael's close friend Elizabeth Taylor and former child actor Macaulay Culkin are also turning up for the service. More are expected to come. At the time of writing, Michael's parents Joe and Katherine Jackson have not yet been seen at the venue. The late singer's three young children; Prince Michael Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, and Prince Michael Jackson II also haven't arrived yet.
The funeral is set to be kicked off at 7 P.M. ET. Meanwhile, approximately 250 seats have been arranged for mourners over a green surface. "Nearly double the number of media credentials, 435, were issued to reporters and film crews who remained at a distance from the service and behind barricades", the Associated Press reports. Michael Jackson who passed away on June 25 after suffering cardiac arrest will be interred in Forest Lawn's Grand Mausoleum, the final resting place for such stars as Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Jean Harlow and Red Skelton. His brother, Marlon Jackson, has confirmed that Prince Michael Jr., Paris, and Prince Michael II have each written letters to their late father. Those letters, which read "Daddy, we love you, we miss you," will lie with him alongside one of his signature white gloves.
His body has been kept at the cemetery since his public memorial service at a basketball arena in downtown Los Angeles on July 6. Mr. Jackson died of a drug overdose on June 25, at age 50, in what the Los Angeles County Coroner ruled last week was a homicide. The Jackson estate will reimburse the Glendale Police Department for its expenses, which the agency has estimated will be up to US$150,000. The city of Los Angeles absorbed the estimated US$1.4-million cost of the memorial service.

Big Brother 11 Episode 25:_ The last time we checked in on the 'Big Brother 11' house, things had gone exactly as we all expected. Jeff fell for Kevin's clever ruse, put Russell on the block and Russell promptly lost his ever loving mind.He did this by picking fights with Jeff and Jordan, complete with threat and chest thumping. And that last part was actually Jordan. And, surprising exactly no one, Russell - as the strongest competitor - was sent home. When Thursday's show ended, we were left hanging with an endurance HoH competition that had the HGs running cups of hot chocolate to giant fishbowls, filling them up far enough to grab the floating marshmallow. There's hilarity when BB begins a steady rain, that slicks up the ground enough to ensure lots of spills.Michele and Kevin are playing for all their worth, while Jordan appears to be taking it easy and Natalie? Well, I'm torn. She either throws the competition or gives up when she realizes she's not going to win. Which just makes her all the more irritating. Kevin believes that it's his "light and floaty step" that gives him the edge. Whatever it was, it allowed him to take the HoH win. And it's not a moment later that he's telling the camera that neither Michele, Jordan or Jeff are safe. I am saddened that it appears that Natalie is.After his win, he and Natalie talk strategy and try to figure out what will be the most likely competition they will face next - physical or mental - and who should be taken out to increase their chances. Meanwhile, Michele sobs over not winning when it was most critical for her and how she's alone in the house, repeating "it's just a game". Continuing with the theme of sadness, we also hear about Jordan's family losing their house to foreclosure. There is less arguing going on, since everyone is mindful to be courteous based on the fact that everyone left could be part of the jury that votes on who gets the money. the arguments that do exists are more silly than serious, Such as, Natalie berating Kevin for not defending her from dragon flies - which she believes bite. There is also a disagreement between Jeff and Jordan over whether a certain fruit is a nectarine or a peach. Really, it does more to highlight the general lack of intelligence than anything else. There's a lot of talk about who the nominations could be. Jordan worries that Kevin plans to backdoor Jeff, while Natalie is very vocal about wanting Michele gone. It's a move that she admits is strategized to keep her hands clean in the eyes of Jeff and Jordan, since at least one of them will be staying. Of course, if Michele stays and Kevin grows some insight into how she's undermining him, it does her no good.But Kevin gaining insight seems like a long shot when he tells Jeff that his plan is to put up him and Michele. When Jeff asks him why not Jordan, allowing him to play in the PoV to save her, take her off the block and have him put up Natalie, Kevin lamely responds that it would be a lot of responsibility on Jeff's shoulders. None of which really makes a lick of sense. But in the end, Kevin sticks to his plan and does nominate Jeff and Michele.

Christina Mchale:- Christina McHale came to her first U.S. Open when she was 10 years old, which seems like a long time ago until you realize she's only 17 now.
The Englewood Cliffs native won her first professional tennis match Tuesday in the tournament she has always loved so much, defeating Slovenian Polona Hercog in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, before a throng of family and friends who packed the bleachers on Court 10.
"The U.S. Open's my favorite tournament of the year, so it was really exciting to come out there and get a win,'' McHale said. "When I first got out on the court, I got a rush of excitement and nerves. It's a great feeling to play here.''

With the win, McHale, 5-foot-5 and ranked No. 381 in the world, will get to play another match in her favorite tournament -- a second-round meeting with former No. 1 Maria Sharapova, who defeated Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova, 6-3, 6-0, Tuesday night.

But that's something McHale will worry about Wednesday night, after she plays her doubles match with Asia Muhammad. Tuesday night was a night for feeling good, and for going out for a nice dinner after the match, and then home for a good night's sleep -- if that was possible.

When she got to match point, McHale insisted she didn't start celebrating early.
"I never really was like, 'I got it, this is over, now,' '' she said. "I was like, 'I want to get this over right now, and not give her a chance to come back.' ''

The bill requests payment for security charges, barricade rentals and "temporary invaultment" of Michael's body from the beginning of July.The exact cost of the bill has been redacted, but a lawyer for the special administrators of Michael's estate said yesterday in court that the final number for everything would be "extraordinary."Katherine's request to have MJ's estate foot the bill was approved yesterday. In the docs, it says "Payment must be made as soon as possible if the family is to avoid the public embarrassment and added grief, in addition to the inconvenience, inefficiency and unhappiness, of having to make new arrangements for the funeral."The docs also show the Glendale Police Department "indicated that they will not provide their services without receiving payment prior to rendering those services.

Michael Jackson’s burial will finally take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale on Thursday. More than two months after his death, the King of Pop will be laid to rest in a private burial at 4PM PT.

Man Slaps Child in Walmart:- I was shocked to hear that a strange man walked up to a crying 2-year-old girl in a U.S. Walmart store and slapped her repeatedly across the face. The incident must have terrifying for the mother.

61-year-old Roger Stevens threatened that if the mother didn't shut up her crying child than he would do it for her. He then proceeded to slap the toddler across the face 4 times.Another Walmart shopper grabbed Roger Stevens and held him until the authorities arrived. Roger Stevens has been charged with felony cruelty to a child.

In the CNN News report video posted below the reporter asks the question "What would you do to get a kid to stop crying?" While raising my kids I would leave the store immediately if they began to cry (they soon learned that crying got them no where and stopped) and I admit that I find it annoying that someone will continue to shop for an hour with their child screaming non-stop.But the man who slapped the child in Walmart has some serious anger issues, and the fact that he attacked a toddler is frightening. If you can't handle being annoyed by other people than you shouldn't leave the house, and you definitely shouldn't be shopping at a busy Walmart. This guy should be punished to the full extent of the law.

If we want to build a 21st century infrastructure and repair our crumbling roads and bridges, we can’t afford a future where a third of all fourth graders and a fifth of all eighth graders can’t do basic math, and black and –black and Latino students are even further behind; a world where elementary school kids are only getting an average 25 minutes of science each day when over 80 percent of the fastest-growing jobs require some knowledge in math and science.”
Students, what are you doing to focus your educations on math and science? Art, music, and languages are fine but your first priorities should be math and science. So load up on those subjects and drop liberal arts and fine arts electives. Ignore Barack and Michelle Obama, neither of whom focused on math or science in their education. Forget about your GPAs and take as many math and science courses in high school and college as you can.
OBAMA: “But that’s not the leadership we’ve been getting from Washington. For decades, folks in Washington have been stuck in the same tired debates over education that have crippled our progress and left schools and parents to fend for themselves. It’s been Democrat versus Republican, vouchers versus the status quo, more money versus more reform. There’s partisanship and there’s bickering, but there’s no understanding that both sides have good ideas that we’ll need to implement if we hope to make the changes our children need. And we’ve fallen further and further behind as a result.”
Students, Obama said that “black and Latino children are even further behind,” so ask yourselves why his Secretary of Education helped to end the Opportunity Scholarship Program that provided vouchers to poor or underprivileged Washington, D.C., public school students to use for higher-performing schools. And why did Obama sign a law eliminating the Program? More important, why doesn’t the Obama Administration support the bipartisan bill (S. 1552) that would reinstate the Opportunity Scholarship Program in D.C.?
OBAMA: “When I’m president, we’ll fight to make sure we’re once again first in the world when it comes to high school graduation rates. We’re going to push our children to study harder and aim higher. I’ve worked with Republican Senator Jim DeMint on a bill that would challenge high school students to take college-level courses and make sure low-income neighborhoods and rural communities have access to those courses, and I’ll make it the law of the land when I’m president. And we’re also going to set a goal of increasing the number of high school students taking college-level or AP courses by 50 percent in the coming years because I believe that when we challenge our kids to succeed, they will succeed.”
Students, how many hours do you study a night and how many AP courses have you signed up for this semester? Whatever those numbers are, each one of you should study harder and sign up for at least 50% more AP courses before you graduate. If you don’t study or you aren’t signed up for any AP courses, then find a fellow student and tell him or her to study twice as hard and sign up for twice as many AP classes. Just remind them, “Yes, We Can.”
OBAMA: “Now, I know this sounds like a lot, but we can do it all. We can increase the number of students taking college-level courses. We can expand innovation and school choice. We can invest in the schools of tomorrow. And we can put a quality teacher in every classroom. And you know what? We can do all of this for the cost of just a few days in Iraq. We can do it. We’ll pay for that cost by carefully winding down the war in Iraq, by ending no-bid contracts, by eliminating wasteful spending. So we’ll make these investments, but we’ll do it without mortgaging our children’s future on an even larger amount of debt. We’ll do it responsibly.”
Students, here’s a two-part question: Do you think we can re-invent America’s educational system and do all President Obama promises for “the cost of just a few days in Iraq”? (Bonus points for any student who notes that America is still in Iraq.) More important, what role does Obama’s projected $9T deficit play in “mortgaging our children’s future” and why is Obama acting “responsibly” when he facilitates that kind of long-term burden?
Finally, in his speech last year, Obama talked about giving every American the same chance at a great college education that he and his wife had. Would that be a merit-based education or an affirmative action-based education? Today’s news includes one short-sighted college that decided to eliminate its National Merit Scholarship program because it costs too much and frees up money for needy students. Then again, I wonder how many American leaders and colleges care about merit anymore

Police say Garrido fathered Dugard’s two daughters and lived with them in a backyard encampment of tents and sheds in Antioch. Tina Dugard said her niece’s daughters, ages 11 and 15, appeared to be bright and educated, even though they did not attend school.
“Jaycee did a truly amazing job with the limited resources and education that she herself had, and we are so proud of her,” Dugard said. The family’s location has been a closely guarded secret since the 29-year-old woman reappeared last week. She was 11 when she was allegedly kidnapped.
Tina Dugard said the family has been spending time “in a secluded place,” reconnecting and getting to know each other again. “Not only have we laughed and cried together, but we’ve spent time sitting quietly, taking pleasure in each other’s company,” Dugard said.
Tina Dugard took no questions from reporters and did not comment on the investigation into her niece’s abduction. A spokeswoman for the Dugard family, Erika Price Schulte, said they would have no further public comment for now.

And since they’re overspending and creating a need for installment loans for bad credit anyway, Wal-Mart simply doesn’t make sense.
Let’s go even further than that, however. Not only does making Wal-Mart your sole shopping destination do all of those things, but it also shows that you, like so many others, have stopped caring. At first, you may dress well when you go there, but eventually things start to slip - including your pants

Maximum sustained winds had dropped to around 125 mph (205 kph), and the storm was moving north-northwest near 12 mph (19 kph) Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Erika has formed in the open Atlantic, east of Antigua and Barbuda. The storm has top winds around 50 mph, and could grow stronger in the next couple of days.

Ap Cm Missing:- Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister K.Rosiah on Wednesday confirmed that the state government helicopter carrying Chief Minister Y.S. Rajshekhar Reddy has landed in a forest area in Chitoor District, and efforts are on to locate it.

According to sources,after a two-hour frantic search involving Army helicopters and security agencies,Kurnool district officials have established contact with Missing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy,took him to the guest house. Though,Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office ,there has been no confirmation of Reddy being found.
The Chief Minister was supposed to land at 1045 hrs IST in Chitoor. But due to bad weather Reddy’s helicopter made an emergency landing at Pamulapadu in Kurnool district, also due to bad mobile connectivity and the area being heavily forested officials failed to make any contact.

Rosiah said that the Prime Minister’s office as well as the offices of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Home Minister P. Chidambaram and Defence Minister A.K. Antony are being kept posted about the latest developments.
