Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard Photo:- Lance Cpl. Joshua Bernard was a great inclusion to US Marine as sources say, and most importantly will be remembered thus in future. AP published some of his photos which were sensitive enough as demanded by his father. So considering you know about the unfortunate incident already.
In this Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 file photo, U.S. Marine Cpl. Braxton Russell pays his respects to Lance Cpl. Joshua Bernard during a memorial service at a forward operating base with Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, in Now Zad in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. Bernard was mortally wounded during a Taliban ambush on Aug. 14.
The AP Photo of dying marine, Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard, has stirred a lot of controversy. Many disagree with AP publication of the Lance Cpl. Joshua Bernard death photo because it crossed some boundaries that even Defense Secretary Robert Gates has harshly criticized it. The father of the fallen soldier has appealed to AP that the image be removed but AP thinks that it is their duty to “conveys the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.” But the grimness of war can be conveyed in many different ways without adding pain to the families of fallen soldiers.
